L.F. 2 Resistance Box by H. Tinsley & Co. (London) manufactured 28th November 1937. This is in fact a stepped 10k Ohm potentiometer, the terminal to the lower right being attached to the rotary wiper, which is operated by means of the large ebonite knob.

This beautiful instrument is housed in a solid mahogany cabinet with thick ebonite panel and the whole has a lovely patina. Nickel plated brass terminals and phosphor bronze contacts are used and the wiping action of the rotor is of especially fine construction. A label on the base carries the serial number 30948, the date of manufacture (28.11.37) and the signatures of the three persons who built it. The instrument is in full working order.
